On December 9, 2024, EMASCO held its inaugural event, the "Mastering Feline CKD with a Leap Forward" seminar, at the luxurious InterContinental Hotel in Dubai Festival City. This event proudly kicked off our initiative to provide ongoing professional development for veterinary professionals dedicated to advancing their expertise in feline medicine.

The seminar featured an impressive array of topics crucial to the current and future state of feline chronic kidney disease (CKD) management. We were honored to have Dr. Jessica M. Quimby, DVM, PhD, DACVIM, as our Keynote Speaker and Dr. Olaf Hansen as our Guest Speaker. Both speakers provided groundbreaking insights and practical knowledge on several key aspects of CKD care:

  • Nutrition in Feline CKD: Focusing on calories, calcium, and phosphorus management.

  • Updates in Feline CKD Management: Covering the latest advancements in treatment protocols.

  • In-depth Overview of Porus One & CatNey One: Highlighting these innovative products and their role in enhancing renal health.

The seminar was not only educational but also interactive, concluding with a vibrant Q&A session that allowed attendees to discuss their thoughts and questions in depth. The day ended with a delightful dinner, providing a great opportunity for networking among peers.

We are thrilled with the success of our first seminar and eager to continue this journey. Stay tuned for announcements about our future events, and thank you to all who participated and contributed to making this a landmark event in the field of veterinary medicine. Together, we are enhancing our ability to care for cats with CKD, ensuring they lead healthier, happier lives.
